Is it genetic?

This little boy of ours is so motivated by music. These pics were taken by Dave's cell phone while he and Dietrich were waiting for me to finish practicing the organ (I was filling in for someone). Dietrich loves music! He loves to sing it, dance to it, lead it . . . he'll conduct the music sometimes while we're in church (standing so everyone can see of course), and he'll open the hymnbooks and sing with the congregation, and when we're at home he'll run and dance around like crazy with any music on movies or cd's. His music taste is pretty diverse too. He likes Dave's classic rock just as well as my jazz or classical or disco . . . yeah my taste is pretty diverse as well. :-)

More random cell phone pics

Dietrich likes to play chef. He loves playing with all of my kitchen utensils (which drives me crazy) and pretend like he's mixing stuff up. He'll also sample his creations - they're always good. :-)
This kid has a really expressive face. It's amazing the different expressions he'll come up with! He gets it from both parents - I've been told that as a youngster I was sometimes referred to as the "child with a thousand faces." And I've observed that Dave is pretty darn expressive with his face as well.

Pics from Spring Break

I suppose these pics are a little old, but it took forever to get them sent from the cell phone to the email. They were taken with David's cell phone and I finally had to do most of the sending myself! Not that I'm complaining really. :-)

Dietrich had fun playing with his cousin Natalie. They kind of rough housed I guess you might say.

He didn't really know what to think of her initially - she's very affectionate and busy, but he got used to her and had a good time playing with her.

Here he's underneath the play center/walker thing. He didn't have quite as much fun playing with "cousin" Braxton - he (Dietrich) was a little under the weather. I say "cousin" because he isn't literally his cousin, but his parents are really good friends of ours so they may as well be family! haha

It's Elmo!

While we were at a friends' house Dietrich discovered this Halloween costume, and although he's not familiar with Elmo, he totally loved it. He's way cuter than Elmo huh. :-)

An edible pacifier?

Our last road trip was to Ogden, UT. It was time for Dietrich's nap when we hit the road, but he ate for a little while first. He was pretty tired as you can see. I did take the pretzel out of his mouth after I took the pictures. It was just too funny not to take a picture!
